As long as I can remember, I’ve been fucking with thread. Cardboard and yarn sewing toys, stitching drier sheets onto my stuffies, or cutting up my friend’s clothes to make sweaters for her dog… I have always been drawn to the magic of fibre.
For over a decade I was a professional fashion designer, seamstress and corsetiere, creating intricate and simple things alike, and have always been obsessed with texture and colour. Rediscovering cross stitch, and then embroidery, honestly may have saved my life. The feeling of a needle and thread in my hands, the way each stitch takes patience and planning, to get it just right… it slows down my brain in a way few other activities do.
I love to create wild florals with my stitches. Their imperfect nature allows me to focus on the basic shapes and colours of each element, and less on photo realistic perfection. I am a bit of a fabric hoarder, and I love running my hands through the hanging stacks in my craftroom closet to find the perfect material for a project, then carefully matching it with thread colours and textures that will compliment it or create the feeling I want.
Below is a gallery of some of my past work, as well as projects that are for sale.
If you are looking for a custom embroidery, please note there is a very strict timeline on these, and the request form can be found here.
